On September 2-7, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2021) took place in Beijing, the national capital of China.

During the CIFTIS 2021 themed “Towards digital future, service driven development”, the achievements in service trade development during the 13th Five-year Plan were exhibited, and over 10,000 enterprises from 153 countries and regions were present online and offline for mutual benefit and share in global service trade. Under CIFTIS 2021, one comprehensive show and 8 special sessions displayed new technologies, new modes and new achievements from various fields in the digital, networked and intelligent development. Friends from all over the world were invited to the “Rendezvous in Beijing” to share “China Opportunities” and to pump Chinese energy into the pandemic-stricken world economy.


As the largest-scale comprehensive exhibition in global service trade and leading event in China’s service trade, the CIFTIS is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, P.R.C., and the Municipal People’s Government of Beijing, and this State-level international, comprehensive fair, together with China Export & Import Fair (Canton Fair) and China International Import Expo (CIIE), are Top3 exhibition platforms in China’s opening-up efforts.

On September 2nd evening, President Xi Jinping delivered a video speech on the CIFTIS Global Trade in Services Summit 2021.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that the service trade is an important composition in global trade and a major sector in international economic and trade cooperation, and it plays a critical role in the formation of a new development perspective. China is willing to join all parties in opening-up for cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win development, and share opportunities for service trade development to promote economic recovery and growth across the world.

Transport service is an important category in service trade, and reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission during trade and transit has become a serious subject that people have to face today when the world is being depleted of resources and the whole globe is subject to the goals of carbon peak and neutrality. Hydrogen energy, a universally acknowledged final source of clean energy, features zero emission and high efficiency, and the development of hydrogen energy is a critical practice to decarbonize the supply chain of service trade, create a green transit service system and share green trade development opportunities.
