China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) announced recently the winners of the 2021 China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, and Sinosynergy’s project of “Precision Design, Manufacturing and Industrialization of High Power Hydrogen Fuel Cell Stacks for Vehicles” won the First Prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award.
China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award， jointly set up by China Machinery Industry Federation and the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology， is the only State level award for the machinery industry in China. It aims to commend those units and individuals that have made outstanding scientific and technological contributions to the machinery industry to promote the scientific and technological development of the machinery industry and boost the comprehensive strength and level of China’s machinery industry.
The “Precision Design, Manufacturing and Industrialization of High Power Hydrogen Fuel Cell Stacks for Vehicles” project, which was led by Shanghai Jiaotong University for research and development, proposed a new fuel cell stack layers tolerance design method, invented a new layers assembly technique, and developed a high efficiency production line of high power fuel cell stacks on the basis of the whole technological chain of fuel cell layer assembly theory, technique and equipment, creating a high power fuel cell design and manufacturing technology system to promote the development of China’s fuel cell industry.
This honor represents the State approval of Sinosynergy’s excellent product technology and a new milestone in Sinosynergy’s research and development of high power fuel cell technologies.
On its self-developed fuel cell products, Sinosynergy owns such advanced core technologies as mass production of flexible graphite bipolar plates, thinning of flexible graphite bipolar plates and design of high specific power fuel cell stacks, and its fuel cell stacks have achieved a power density of 3.8 kW/L and a service life over 20,000 hr, leading in the world.
Thanks to the in-depth integration of enterprises, universities and research institutes for technological innovation, Sinosynergy has obtained such certifications as "China Enterprise – University - Research Institute Collaboration Innovation Pilot Laboratory", "National High-Tech Enterprise" and "National Post-Doctoral Workstation". In response to the national energy transformation strategy, Sinosynergy has entered in-depth cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fuzhou University, etc., achieved many innovations on products and technologies and promoted the commercialization of the fuel cell industry. So far, nearly 5,000 vehicles are equipped with Sinosynergy products, and the Company has ranked first for four consecutive years in the domestic market share of fuel cell stacks for vehicles.
Sinosynergy will continue to accelerate technological innovation and breakthroughs, cooperate with upstream and downstream enterprises, explore and solve strangling technical problems in industrial development, enhance the core competitiveness of the fuel cell industry and promote the high quality development of China’s machinery industry.
