On August 18, the 2022 Symposium for Core Hydrogen Companies sponsored by Sinolink Securities took place in Shenzhen. The symposium was conducted online and offline and core enterprises from the hydrogen industry were invited to discuss hot topics on hydrogen development. Sinosynergy General Manager Yang Zeyun attended the summit and gave a keynote speech.

Yang Zeyun said, Sinosynergy has since its establishment in 2015 been committed to the industrial and commercial application of fuel cell products. With the commissioning and pilot application in many regions in China, hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks have become a most important application scenario for the hydrogen industry. As the earliest domestic enterprise engaged in the development of hydrogen fuel cells, Sinosynergy has blazed the trail of commercial exploration and application in heavy-duty trucks.

The Guidance of Policies. In September 2020, five ministries and commissions jointly issued the Notice on Carrying out Demonstration Application of Fuel Cell Vehicles, and, in last March, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration (NEA) jointly issued the Medium and Long-Term Plan for Hydrogen Industry Development (2021-2035), where the hydrogen industry is encouraged to seek breakthroughs in medium-range high-load transportation applications.

The Best Clean Energy Solution. Heavy-duty cargo vehicles are small in number, but their emission of nitrogen oxides and particulate matters account for 60.0% and 84.6% respectively of the national total emissions from automobiles. The pollution control and emission reduction concerning heavy-duty trucks is becoming an urgent need for the air pollution control and green, low-carbon development in the transportation sector.

Perfect Technical Support. Sinosynergy owns a powerful scientific research team of more than 200 hydrogen experts and doctors, and has entered into a university-enterprise alliance with Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology and many other universities, colleges and research institutes. On April 8, Sinosynergy ceremoniously launched SynStack GIII high-power fuel cell stacks and SynRoad H high-power fuel cell systems. SynStack GIII stacks feature over 200kW rated power, 4.5kW/L power density and 30,000hrs service life, and have reached the current performance ceiling of graphite plates; SynRoad H products can achieve 120kW-240kW, even 360kW, in power, 44% in rated working efficiency (max. 61%) and 400kW in peak power, and adopt the innovative 7-in-1 control and flexible power regulation module design, greatly expanding the application scenarios.

Fully Verified Product Reliability. To test the operation ability of the products, Sinosynergy sent its extreme cold test team to Mohe, the northernmost point of China (the extreme temperature in winter can be as low as -52.3 ℃) 4000 kilometers away, where they worked for three months and successfully accomplished the tests. In National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Xiangyang), Sinosynergy passed the tests on product power, stability and economy performance.

Robust Mass Production and Delivery Capacity. At present, Sinosynergy has achieved an annual production capacity of 5 million bipolar plates, 1 million kW of stacks and 10,000 sets of systems. Next, the company will accelerate its expansion of production capacity, promote the implementation of projects and plan for the medium and long-term development.

Commercial Application in Various Regions and Scenarios. At present, heavy-duty trucks equipped with Sinosynergy products have been put into commercial operation, and the application scenarios include mines, ports, terminals and trunk logistics. As per the third-party data in the industry, altogether 1,033 fuel cell vehicles were licensed in the first half of 2022, and the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Hongli Hydrogen, ranked first in equipment quantity, accounting for 27.4%; the installation capacity of fuel cells was 101.55MW, ranking first in system equipment percentage and installation capacity, accounting for 30.36%.

Efficient and Timely After-sale Service. Sinosynergy has set up four service centers in South China, East China, North China and Southwest China, and has formulated a rapid response mechanism to provide 8-hr and 24-hr after-sale service to users within and without the province where a service center is established. Through the backstage monitoring system, the company is able to view the product operation status dynamically on real-time basis.

Excellent Market Feedback. According to the displayed date of the operating vehicles, the 49-ton truck head consumes 8-10kg hydrogen per 100 kilometers, 15% lower than the industrial level. Sinosynergy has made the achievements in heavy-duty trucks owing to the joint efforts of its partners such as Feichi Automobile, XCMG Automotive, Shaanxi Automobile, etc. They have all contributed to the achievements today.
